October 1 is celebrated as International Day for Senior Citizens. An event was organized by the Department for Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, Govt. of Karnataka to mark the occasion. The event was inaugurated by Honorable Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Vidyaranya participated in the event along with its 100+ senior citizens, wherein two of our beneficiaries were felicitated.

Vidyaranya has been running two Senior Citizen Care shelters, namely: -Hosa Belaku Home for the Aged (For Men & Women)-Gandhi Home for the Aged (For Women)We aim to provide shelter, food, and medical facilities to these senior citizens and indulge them in various entrepreneurial activities. Also, the inmates and their families are counseled and efforts are undertaken to reintegrate them with their families. The objective is to create an environment that is peaceful and safe.
